Programme Overview

MBA

The MBA programme is structured and updated to include the contemporary changes in the business environment. With reasonable emphasis on the case study methodology the programme is spread over four semesters over a two-year period that comprises 108 Credits of courses and project. The students are offered dual specialisations in the areas of Human Resources, Marketing, Banking, Finance, and Operations Management.

The first year of the programme enriches the students with general and domain-specific concepts and practices which will prepare them to pursue specialisation in the III and IV semesters. The orientation to specialization starts from the II semester with core courses on Marketing, Finance, Operations, Human Resources Management, etc.

The III and IV semesters offer a wide array of electives for dual specialization to enable the students to choose their electives. During the III Semester, students are exposed to simulation games to gain experience in real-life business situations. At the end of the IV semester, the students will undertake 6 to 8 weeks of a project (8 credits) in an organisation of their choice. The documented projects are generally solutions to the challenges faced by the corporate world. The students work under the guidance of industry experts and faculty members which will create an ideal opportunity for prospective employment.

Since there is a huge demand for employment in the banking industry, school of management offers three core courses viz., Principles and Practices of Banking, Legal & Regulatory Aspects of Banking and Accounting & Finance for Bankers as per the syllabi of Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF), Mumbai for the award of Diploma in Banking & Finance (DBF).

Three modules of NSE Certification in Financial Markets (NCFM) have been combined and introduced as one elective paper to the finance elective students. This gives an edge for the students to get rewarding employment in the capital market and allied services.
 

B.Com (CA) & (BFSI)

The B.Com programme offered by the school of management has focused on two contemporary areas such as Computer Applications (CA) and Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) with overall credits of 177. Students with CGPA 7.5 and above with no history of arrears are eligible to receive B.Com Honours Degree. The programme has the right blend of conceptual and practical oriented learning to become a befitting professional in the field of commerce. The students also have a choice-based credit system (CBCS) to choose their electives in the V the VI semesters. During the final semesters, the students will undertake a project in the arena of Computer applications and BFSI with a weightage of 8 credits. Upon completion of the programmes the students get attractive placement offers from Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, and IT/ITeS sectors
